Job Description: Secondary School Cover Teachers (London)
Company: Hays Education
Location: London (specifically boroughs of Walthamstow and Tottenham)

Hays Education is currently seeking dedicated and qualified Secondary School Cover Teachers to join our team. As a cover teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting schools across London by providing long-term, short-term, and day-to-day cover.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to secondary school students during teacher's absences.
  • Adapt to various teaching environments, including different schools and year groups.
  • Maintain classroom management and ensure student work is completed to the expectations of the school.
  • Create strong relationships with pupils to ensure their success.
  • Leave a small handover for the class teacher regarding any important information.

Types of bookings:
  1. Long-Term Supply (3-6 months):
    • Full-time or part-time basis.
    • Cover for teachers on extended leave or maternity/paternity leave.
    • Opportunity to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  2. Short-Term Supply (1-4 weeks):
    • Full-time or part-time basis.
    • Cover for teachers on short-term absence (e.g., illness, training).
    • Flexibility to adapt quickly to different classrooms and subjects.
  3. Day-to-Day Emergency Cover:
    • Immediate cover for unexpected teacher absences.
    • The ability to step in and manage classroom activities effectively.
    • Quick decision-making and adaptability.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching in secondary schools.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work across different schools and year groups.
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student success.

Compensation:
  • Hourly rates vary based on booking type and experience:
    • £150 to £265 per day.
