Teaching Assistant - Primary - Sheffield

Calling all Qualified Teaching Assistants in the Sheffield area!

Hays Education are expanding our undertaking of staff due to high demand in the Sheffield area. Join us now for the opportunity to make a difference in the local community whilst enhancing the lives of young people.

Here at Hays we work closely with a number of vibrant and forward thinking Primary schools, dedicated to the success of their students. Through our strong working relationships with our partner schools, we are able to bring a variety of opportunities to our staff, and are looking to appoint a number of qualified Teaching Assistants for upcoming roles.

The Role
The role of Teaching Assistant is a varied one, with duties including;
  • Supporting young people within a classroom setting
  • Providing support to the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
  • 1:1 support for students identified as having additional learning needs
  • Promoting an inclusive learning environment, modelling the ideal behaviours
  • Preparing classroom resources
  • Assisting with extra-curricular activities and school trips

About You
The ideal candidates for these roles would:
  • Have relevant experience of a minimum of 20 days in the last two years within a classroom
  • Hold a recognised teaching assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a high level of flexibility and dedication to their role
  • Possess key soft skills such as empathy, compassion, patience and passion for education
  • Hold a DBS on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
