Accounts Assistant Monmouth

My client are an excellent private sector organisation based in Monmouth who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their successful finance team. This company are made up of multiple different institutions and offer excellent services for their customers. Your New Role:


As an Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include assisting the Accountant and the Finance Director with various tasks. You’ll also be involved in the following tasks:

  • Billing:
  • Efficiently manage billing receipts and payments, including regular processing of Direct Debits and banking transactions.
  • Oversee and control Fee Debtors, providing regular reports.
  • Offer necessary information and documentation to support families receiving service bursaries.
  • Provide comprehensive support for all aspects of the Group’s billing system.
Payroll:
  • Assist in preparing and processing monthly salaries.
  • Contribute to the efficient handling of monthly tax and pension returns, ensuring accurate payroll and pensions records.
  • Handle staff expenses claims and cost calculations.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the schools and external bodies to maintain complete and correct financial information.
Additional Duties:
  • Support the Accountant in day-to-day accounting and payroll responsibilities.
  • Provide cover for other roles within the Finance Team.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure accurate and complete information.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications (telephone, email, post) in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Execute general administration tasks as specified by the Finance Director and the Financial Accountant.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

To excel in this role, you’ll need strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a finance team. You will also need the following:

  • Excellent understanding of accounting procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Competent on accounting systems/software
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • AAT Level 4 (or studying)
