Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established business to recruit an experienced and hands-on part-time Payroll Officer based in their Gloucester, Gloucestershire office. The position is open to Payroll Professionals from either practice or industry, with flexible working hours between 20 – 30 per week on a permanent basis. The role will process all monthly/weekly payroll processes for the group with related payroll administration and query resolution. The position can be tailored around the right payroll professional with the opportunity to really take control of the payroll processes for the group.
Your new role
Key duties will involve start to finish processing of monthly/weekly payrolls for all employees within the group. Setting up new starters and leavers, working out SSP, maternity/paternity, along with company sickness and bonuses. You will be involved in pension processes, running payslips and updating payroll portals. Producing payroll journals, auto-enrolment processes, along with related HMRC duties. You will keep updated on overtime payroll payments, holiday pay, automatic tax codes, ad-hoc payroll reporting, and support the production of P11D’s yearly. You will take the lead on payroll related queries and support HR administration when needed. What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on part-time payroll position, you will need experience in a similar role, up-to-date knowledge of payroll legalisation and processes, with a positive can-do attitude. You will be used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines, comfortable using MS Excel and finance/payroll systems, along with key communication skills to partner internally and externally at all levels. You will be a keen problem solver with analytical skills and be adaptable to business needs. It would be advantageous but not essential if you have worked with Sage payroll previously.
What you'll get in return
This permanent part-time payroll position offers a salary between £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (pro rata) dependable on experience, based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Hours between 20 – 30 per week, based on candidate preference. The role offers on-site parking and flexible start/finish times. A great opportunity to really take ownership of the payroll processes within a well-established group.
