Head of Vendor Management & Procurement (IT Procurement Experience is necessary)
Your new company
This is a well renowned, global law firm with offices in over 45 locations. They’re already a leader in their field but this role, as Head of Procurement and Vendor Manager, will be influential in leading a more centralised approach for the various business units that make up this organisation.
Your new role
As Head of Procurement and Vendor Management, you will be working closely with the regional leads of the Vendor Management and/or Procurement teams, ensuring a consistent and standardised approach to all processes and policies implemented. You'll be leading with the vision of improving centralised procurement to be faster, more efficient and have an increased element of automation. Working closely with C-suite management is another key responsibility, highlighting areas of improvement, business risk and any performance issues with suppliers. You will also undergo financial management of strategic suppliers, managing indexation / foreign exchange variation, rate card validation and change. You will also be leading a team of 3 procurement professionals.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with business partners and suppliers. Having a degree in commercial management or procurement would be beneficial. Having a couple of years' experience of management of multi-million pound outsourced IT supplier relationships would be helpful. Preferably within legal services or professional services organisations. Knowledge of contract law and IT Service Delivery Management (ITIL) would be valuable but not essential. And you will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office suite, in particular data manipulation in Excel and presentation build in PowerPoint.
