Assistant Accountant Caerphilly

Your new role

As Assistant Accountant, you will predominantly be focusing on operational duties such as helping out the banking team, the VAT team and undertaking intercompany responsibilities. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with month-end procedures.
  • Ensuring cash is posted for the banking team and keeping assets up to date.
  • Intercompany and fixed assets.
  • Assisting with the monthly European VAT returns.
  • Maintaining IT systems and reporting databases.
  • Working alongside accountants within the finance team to ensure that all general ledger accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
  • Processing of standard and non-standard journals.

As well as other duties and responsibilities.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed within this organisation, you will need:

  • IT/Computer literate with excellent Microsoft Excel skills (essential).
  • Genuine desire to learn and progress (essential).
  • Accounting or Finance related degree (essential).
  • Punctual, adaptable and able to work independently as well as part of a team (essential).
  • Experience of using SAP or a similar ERP system (desirable).
  • Experience of operational reporting (desirable).
