Financial Planning and ESG Analyst

A large retail organisation based in Watford is looking for a Financial Planning and ESG Analyst to join their team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Planning, Treasury & ESG Reporting Manager, this position involves the analysis and reporting of management information. Key duties will include weekly sales reports and projections, 3-period updates, annual budgets, 5-year business plans, various treasury related tasks and the gathering and reporting of ESG data.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting of weekly sales and other management information, including updating the period projections and rolling forecasts.
To be heavily involved in coordinating and managing from start to finish the 3-period update process, annual budgets and assisting with updating the 5 year business plan.
Preparing periodic and quarterly P&L budget book/variances and various KPIs
Become conversant and familiar with the functionality and structure of the AS400 financial planning module and the Global OneStream reporting system.
Forecasting and reviewing daily cash flow requirements and updating on a periodic basis the cash flow and balance sheet projections.
Responsibility for tracking and verifying bank, card charges, interest receipts and accruals.
Involvement in managing and reviewing foreign currency requirements, including preparing the Mark-to-Market valuations at period end.
Provide support and recommendations in gathering and analysing data metrics for ESG reporting.
What you'll need to succeed
Applicants to the Financial Planning Department should be currently studying towards a formal accounting qualification with a definitive and confirmed study plan.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Level Excel skills and good understanding of financial reporting systems.
Previous knowledge or experience of ESG regulations and reporting disclosures would be beneficial.
Strong analytical skills are required with the ability to accurately manipulate large amounts of data from multiple sources.
Candidate must be a team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be comfortable in liaising at all levels, including senior management, in all areas of the business.
Initial training will be provided, but the candidate must be highly motivated, a fast learner and show plenty of initiative.
