National Account Manager, Pharmaceuticals, Generics, Wholesalers, WFH

This role is for a fast-growing, global pharmaceutical company whose vision is to become a partner of choice for generics, speciality, hospital and rare disease medicines, and they are actively partnering with innovative biopharma and pharmaceutical development in their pursuit of this. Headquartered in London, UK, they have around 700 employees based across more than 20 countries, including key countries in Europe, the US, Canada, and Australia.

Your new role

I am recruiting a National Account Manager to join their commercial team, to successfully drive growth in sales and profit for agreed wholesaler and retail accounts, whilst developing and maintaining impactful commercial relationships with key stakeholders across all commercial pillars of the UK commercial organisation. This is a highly visible role, with a clear pathway for progression and the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio from Gx and Hospital to a Specialty portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

Sales Performance:
  • Deliver agreed Net Sales and Margin in line with expectations for key customers
  • Develop and implement joint working, sales & channel plans to attain individual target - monthly, quarterly and yearly sales & profit targets
  • Continuously compare sales performance to goals and take appropriate corrective action when necessary
  • Proactively identify and address opportunities with key customers to drive market share.
  • Develop a cadence of accurate business performance forecasting with a mindset of gap-closing.
Commercial strategy
  • Responsible for any commercial deals for defined customers, including price management and customer incentives
  • Monitor and feedback on market and competitor activity as required, including accurate sales forecasting
  • Engage with Portfolio to ensure impactful launch plans for new Product Launches
Customer relationships
  • Build a strong relationship with buyers, middle & senior stakeholders within focus on customers across the retail market
  • Ensure joint business plans for focus on customers are in place and maintained ‘live’
  • Plan top to top customer meetings with focus customers. Leading on preparation, meeting and follow up
  • Ensure appropriate sales and rebate contracts are developed, aligned and implemented in a timely manner and measured monthly

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience working with Generics and Wholesalers in the pharmaceutical industry.
