An Early Years Practitioner is needed for the 2025 spring term in an Early Years setting in Wolverhampton.

Your new company

This Early Years school in Wolverhampton is graded as Outstanding by OFSTED. They implement the Early Years Foundation Stage, recognising that play-based activities and opportunities to investigate, explore, enquire, predict and evaluate, can take place in a climate without fear or compromise. They have a Terrific 4 Twos provision, inclusive provision for children aged 3 to 5 with an EHCP, and they offer 30 hours of free nursery education for parents who are eligible. This school is very much at the heart of their community, providing wellbeing support for not only the children in their care, but also for the families and staff.

Your new role

Covering part of a maternity leave, you will work in the nursery classroom, running a family group of 12–13 pupils (am and pm), or this may be a group of the school's 30-hour pupils. Starting after Christmas, on 06 January 2025, this job is for the spring term. There is the possibility that the job could continue, however the school does expect another member of staff to return after Easter, meaning that this job will be for 1 term only.

You will work 35 hours each week:

8.15am to 3.45pm - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

8.15am to 5pm (to attend staff meetings*) - Wednesday

*staff take a 45-minute lunch each day and get paid for 15 minutes of this time each day, to allow for attendance at staff meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification and have worked in an Early Years environment for at least 6 months within the last 2 years.

The school believes in a holistic approach to learning, embracing that children have individual learning styles. You will need to be passionate about working with children to get to know their individual learning styles, catering to these, to help the children access and get the most out of their education.

You must be confident and able to plan, organise and implement activities to meet the needs of every child and be able to build excellent relationships with families. You must be vigilant and have good safeguarding knowledge. You will need to have a warm and caring nature, be able to work to the EYFS and be a committed and hard-working member of the school team.

What you'll get in return

You will work as part of a passionate, caring and dedicated team of Early Years specialists and be guaranteed full-time work for the spring term in the first instance.

Hays offers holiday pay, and you will be paid weekly. You will be supported throughout this long-term job by your dedicated consultant, who will also be looking out for opportunities for you to start when this job comes to an end.
