Permanent Azerbaijan Finance Manager, UK based fully remote, up to £60,000 + bonus & benefits

Hays Senior Finance are recruiting on behalf of our exclusive & retained client based in Scotland (but with offices throughout the UK) for a permanent Azerbaijan Finance Manager to join their established & growing large corporate business. This role can be based either fully remote or working hybrid from one of their UK-based offices (up to candidate preference). The salary for the role is circa £50,000 - £60,000 + up to 10% annual bonus & other benefits. This is a newly created role and there will be occasional travel to Azerbaijan & the Scottish head office that will be fully expensed.

Your new role

Reporting to the UK-based Group Financial Controller, you will act as the finance link between the Azerbaijan finance team & the UK group. You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with Azerbaijani financial regulations. Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements, client billing compliance, managing budgets, ensuring tax compliance, overseeing internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role often involves coordinating with local teams, understanding Azerbaijani accounting standards and tax laws, and using remote collaboration tools to manage financial operations effectively. Proficiency in Azerbaijani or Russian, along with familiarity with international and local financial practices is required.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant who is proficient in the Azerbaijani or Russian language. You will ideally have experience working within a large corporate business or within a high-volume transactional business. Knowledge & experience of Azerbaijan accounting standards is highly desirable but not essential. You will possess excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage a diverse & busy workload. You will possess strong financial analysis experience, have a problem-solving mindset and have an ability to work under strict deadlines.
