An established and market-leading manufacturing business in Burnley is seeking a driven and commercially minded Buyer to join their friendly Procurement team. This is a global business with £multi-million turnover and a trading history spanning over half a century.
Your new role
As a Buyer, you'll take charge of procuring materials and services while ensuring smooth supply chain operations. From managing purchase orders to leading cost-saving initiatives, your expertise will help the company to achieve top-notch efficiency and quality.
The Buyer's responsibilities will include:
- Managing purchase orders using SAP to align with material planning.
- Keeping supplier records and material pricing up-to-date.
- Building strong supplier relationships and negotiating favourable terms.
- Leading tenders and contributing to contract negotiations.
- Driving process improvements and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolving supplier queries and internal concerns swiftly.
- Monitoring supplier performance and creating insightful reports.
What you'll need to succeed
- CIPS Level 4 qualification (essential).
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent communication and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in IT systems, with SAP experience highly desirable.
