Credit Control Team Leader required for 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Credit Control Team Leader required for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne - HYBRID Working

The role is a combination of credit control responsibility with being the team leader.

Responsible for the debtor ledger of a region, to ensure maximum income and realisation of debt for the business.
As the team leader, the role will have responsibility for debt escalation, stakeholder management and month end reporting, working as a team of 4.
Day to day management of the credit control team:
• To ensure the effective credit control to support cashflow of business.
• Central point for issue resolution and debt escalation.
• Monthly and ad-hoc reporting for the Group Financial Control team.
• Build relationships with key management in the business, and have active working relationships with account managers.
• Cash forecasting
• Support external auditors at year end or as and when required.
Management of all areas of the sales including:
• Checking and reviewing daily orders, release as appropriate or identify actions on other orders/clients. Update suspended order report and issue to customer services.
• Production and issue of weekly/monthly debtor reports.
• Daily posting and allocation of customer receipts.
• Sales ledger debt management via telephone, e-mail, customer websites, statements, letters to ensure debt targets are met and in line with insurance requirements.
• Investigation and resolution of customer queries – raise credit notes where necessary or reject with customer and seek repayment.
• Running of credit checks on potential new customers or existing customers to determine credit limits.

The Skills you'll need for this job:-

  • Minimum 3 years credit control experience.
• General understanding of business financials.
• Analytical and methodical.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office, Word.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Prioritising skills and good time management.
• Experience of credit control in a pressurised environment.
• Experience of team management
