Data Analyst

Here at Hays we are working with a private sector client seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join their accounts department. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing large datasets, extracting meaningful insights, and providing actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making across the organisation.


This role will have an on-site probation period for the initial few weeks and then will become a hybrid role with 2 days working remotely in the Worcestershire area.

Please ensure you are able to commute to the above area.

Duties

● Extract transactional data from online payment platforms
● Develop a set of KPIs to benchmark against past performance and provide improved visibility of operational success.
● Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
● Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within datasets.
● Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations to communicate key insights to stakeholders.

Key Skills Required

● Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
● Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with expertise in data manipulation, analysis, and visualisation.
● Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and manipulation.
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable insights.
● Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn.
