Quantity Surveyor - Construction - Freelance

Your new company

A regional contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering projects across East Anglia with a strong order book from both new and repeat clients. Schemes range from commercial to industrial projects.

Your new role

They are now looking for a site based Quantity Surveyor to work on a £6.5m project in the Cheshunt area building a high-spec industrial unit. Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will be site based on the project.


Some key duties:
  • Preparing contract documents.
  • Procurement of Subcontract and Supply packages.
  • Estimating
  • Assess applications and make payments.
  • Measure from drawings to produce bills of quantities and schedule materials.
  • Produce the Contractors Monthly Report.
  • Calculate variations and submission.
  • Submitting monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations
  • Chairing progress and design meetings with the client
  • Support with Health & Safety on site

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience working with JCT forms of contract

  • Previous experience working on similar schemes, in particular working on groundworks packages
