Year End Accountant - 3+ month contract - Hybrid

I am currently working with a leading insurance broking company dedicated to providing innovative risk management and insurance solutions to our clients. We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service and our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the industry. As part of our ongoing growth, we are seeking a talented Year-End Accountant to join our finance team.

Your new role
This role you will be required to -
  • Year-End Financial Reporting: Preparing and managing year-end financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Acturis System Management: Utilise the Acturis Insurance System to maintain accurate financial records, perform reconciliations, and generate financial reports.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management.
  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support for year-end audits.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards applicable to the insurance industry.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
What you'll need to succeed
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE accountant
  • Experience within an insurance business and using Acturis is desired or use of other insurance ERP systems
  • Experience with closing a year-end within an insurance business
  • Producing financial statements to a high standard
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
