Marine (Hull & Machinery) Claims Handler - Lloyd’s Insurance Broker, Up to £70,000 - WFH/City

Their role is to create specialist transactions to manage risk, while delivering economic flexibility and stability for their clients. Due to the growth within the claims team, a permanent position for a Marine Hull & Machinery Claims Handler has arisen.

Your new role
In your new role you will be working as a Marine (Hull & Machinery) Claims Handler, where you will be responsible for handling a variety of high-value and contentious Marine Hull & Machinery Claims from first notification of loss through to settlement. Whilst handling these Claims from cradle to grave, you will also be expected to process the claim, manage their movements and set up initial advice logging each relevant movement on the internal/ECF system.

You will also be responsible for managing key accounts, specifically maintaining and building on the current Claims relationship, including regular meetings and providing Claims reports to senior stakeholders of the business. You will be working closely with the placing team, keeping them abreast with updates and relevant trends in the market and reporting directly to the Claims manager.

What you will need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will need significant Marine Hull & Machinery claims experience, and you will need an in-depth understanding of how the market works right through to placement, with a strong understanding of how policies are structured, how premiums have been signed to relevant different policy sections, and a good understanding of all market systems and how they fit together.

You will have a high degree of knowledge and experience using the ECF/CLASS system, you will be analytical and have excellent experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
