We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious consultancy firm known for its award-winning multidisciplinary services. The company specialises in mechanical and electrical building services designs, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions and lowering energy and running costs for clients. Your new role

As a Mechanical Engineer in the M&E department based in Nottingham, you will:
  • Assume responsibility for individual projects
  • Prepare outline and detailed designs for tender, including specifications and drawings
  • Write technical reports
  • Conduct surveys and detailed calculations
  • Liaise directly with clients and contractors
  • Attend project and design team meetings both in the office and on-site
  • Provide management and technical support to senior staff in daily office operations
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and quality management systems

What you'll need to succeed

  • HNC/D or degree in a relevant field (degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate design experience in consultancy or contracting
  • Understanding of current building regulations and the construction industry design and procurement process
  • Familiarity with CIBSE guides
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, IES, and Hevacomp (or equivalent)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation and ambition to progress
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage your own workload
