Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management:
    Support the Headteacher in the overall management of the school, including strategic planning and implementation of school policies.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Lead and oversee the development and delivery of the Humanities or STEM curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Staff Development:
    Mentor and support teaching staff, providing professional development opportunities and fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Student Achievement:
    Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise achievement and address any areas of concern.
  • Parental Engagement:
    Build strong relationships with parents and the wider community, promoting the school’s values and ethos.
  • Operational Duties:
    Assist with the day-to-day running of the school, including timetabling, resource management, and health and safety compliance.

Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    A relevant degree in Humanities or STEM, and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE).
  • Experience:
    Proven experience in a leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Skills:
    Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
  • Knowledge:
    In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and current educational practices.
  • Communication:
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Commitment:
    A passion for education and a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
