Your new job working as a Senior Portfolio Manager Operations/Senior Technical Accountant will be working with a global Reinsurance firm. They offer their clients a diversified and innovative range of reinsurance and insurance solutions and services to control and manage risk. Due to growth within the Operations team, a permanent job for a Senior Portfolio Manager Operations/Senior Technical Accountant has arisen.
Your new role
Your new role working as a Senior Portfolio Manager Operations/Senior Technical Accountant means you will oversee the administration of insurance and/or reinsurance accounts and contracts, be accountable for internal and external audit purposes and ensure compliance with sanctions and embargoes. Duties will include establishing and maintaining contractual data, processing the insurance and/or reinsurance account bookings, claims handling and managing the related cash flow. Further duties will also include supporting the underwriters in administrative activities related to the underwriting process and clarifying any discrepancies with underwriters/claim experts/brokers. You will also manage your own portfolio with medium to complex accounts, provide guidance to junior members of the team, perform Internal Control System controls and monitor client accounts /statistics using internal reports.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience working in the accounting/underwriting assistance/controlling reinsurance industry will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have advanced MS Office skills with a focus on MS Excel and Power Query, solid insurance and reinsurance knowledge and eagerness to deepen expertise, advanced analytical skills and accuracy. You will also have a sense of reliability and responsibility, advanced communication and team collaboration skills, self-motivation, flexibility and adaptability to changes. Ideally, Business Objects, Power BI and Tableau skills would be beneficial. You will also be educated to a Bachelor/complete commercial apprenticeship (ideally a re-/insurance company) or equivalent level and be fully competent in the English language.
