Your new company & Role

A fast-growing international advertising and marketing company with a focus on providing innovative solutions through technology. This role will sit in a dynamic global legal team and play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal operations, project management, and technology implementation, with a focus on driving organisational success through innovative approaches.

Your new role

Operational Efficiency
  • Develop, implement, and optimise workflows, processes, and systems to improve the legal department’s operational performance.
  • Recognise and implement best practices to enhance team productivity.
Technology & Tools Management:
  • Implement and manage legal technology tools such as contract management, e-billing, and document management systems.
  • Provide training and support to allow seamless adoption of new tools.
Budgeting & Financial Management:
  • Oversee the department’s budget, including forecasting, expense tracking, and reporting.
  • Ensure cost effectiveness by managing external counsel and vendor spend.
Project Management:
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives within the legal department, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Maintain a roadmap for key legal initiatives and ensure resource allocation aligns with priorities.
Vendor & Outside Counsel Management:
  • Manage relationships with external legal service providers and negotiate favourable terms.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
Data Management & Reporting:
  • Develop and track metrics and KPIs to measure performance and inform decision-making for the legal department.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
Team Support & Development:
  • Act as a liaison between the legal department and other business units to improve communication and collaboration.
  • Support training and development initiatives within the legal team.
  • Manage 1 junior in the team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in legal operations, project management, or related disciplines is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of contract management
  • Previous experience in the media or advertising sector
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal operations, project management, or a similar role, preferably within a corporate legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal processes, technology tools, and systems (e.g., CLM, e-billing, matter management).
  • Exceptional organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
