NEW and exciting Stock & Systems Manager role with a national supply chain business

My client is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Stock & Systems Manager to join a national logistics company at their distribution centre in Runcorn. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of stock holding within the warehouse. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and support the evolving needs of their key client.

The Shift Pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (with some flexibility required)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify trends that may negatively impact stock control and propose solutions to mitigate these issues.
  • Team management with 3 direct reports.
  • Conduct regular control checks to verify operational performance and reduce risk.
  • Provide support and guidance to the site management team, including training and development.
  • Work closely with the customer to resolve stock holding, documentation, and supplier payment issues.
  • Compile and circulate weekly and period reports detailing stock audits and operational results.
  • Ensure the team consistently meets and exceeds operational KPIs.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Stock Team Managers.
  • Communicate stock reports, issues, and solutions to senior management and customers clearly.
What You’ll Need To Succeed:
  • Proven experience in a distribution warehouse environment with a stock/inventory management background.
  • Proactive and self-starting attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Advanced PC skills, particularly in Excel, and familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as Matflo.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present to senior management.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
In return, you will receive:
  • Competitive salary (£40,000–43,500 depending on exp) and benefits package.
  • A friendly, safety-first working environment.
  • Company pension scheme, generous holidays, cycle-to-work scheme, and an online discount platform.
  • On site parking and additional perks.
  • Opportunities for career development, training, and progression within the business.
