Your new Primary School

This Primary School teaches children to discover their talents and passions and to take their places in society, making a difference through leadership and service wherever their futures may take them. This school provides a rich programme of free extracurricular activities, creates an involving and stimulating physical environment and build a staff of interesting people who are motivated to advance their own knowledge and skills as well as their pupil’s achievements.
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher to join their team on a full-time basis as a Year 6 Class Teacher. In this role, you are part of a community of dedicated, friendly staff standing by and upholding its mission in creating and maintaining a supportive and thriving learning environment.

About your role as a Year 6 Class Teacher

As a classroom teacher, you will have excellent knowledge of the curriculum. Some of your duties will include:

•Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that align with the curriculum, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all subjects.
•Regularly assess student progress through various methods, including formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback.
•Create and maintain a positive, organised, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages learning and good behaviour.
•Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of all students, including those with special educational needs.
•Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and discussing any concerns or achievements.

What you will need to succeed

•QTS (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree in the UK
•Successful experience of teaching the primary curriculum
•Good understanding of current theory and best practice in teaching and learning, particularly as it relates to achieving high rates of progress of children of primary age
•Good subject knowledge of the core National Curriculum
•Good understanding of child development and progression and how these impact on planning
•Understanding of effective strategies for managing behaviour within the classroom and in accordance with the school's policy
•An understanding of equal opportunity issues and how they can be addressed in schools
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•The right to work in the UK
•You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays
