Your new role

Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time Children's experienced Social Service Worker in an agency/temp capacity.
The successful candidate will be required to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people, appropriate to experience and capabilities within the Children with Disabilities Team.
The post will involve preparing and submitting written reports relevant to the service provided by the CWD team, such as Disabled Person Assessments, Pathway Plans and review reports, as well as providing plans and services to children and their families. There will be a need to attend conferences, reviews and court, as and when required for each case.
The case load averages 10-16, depending on the needs of the service and intake. As well as this, you will act as the duty worker for the team, responding to queries and issues.
You are required to ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and practice methods to enable an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed.

Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 2 days a week.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the post, you must have working experience/knowledge of children with disabilities, child protection and methods of social work intervention.
You must have experience of multidisciplinary working with children and families.
