Buyer - Rail Industry - £43,000 - Hybrid

Your new company

You will be working for one of London’s train operating groups, supporting the continuous running of multiple key overground railway lines across the capital. With over 5000 staff and responsibility for over 200 stations, you will be part of a team delivering meaningful rail projects to support communities right across London.

Your new role

As a buyer, you will play a critical role in supporting a wide range of procurement initiatives, working closely with Contract, Category and Sourcing Managers right across the procurement lifecycle. You will work alongside one other buyer, maintaining the Oracle P2P system, leading sourcing events >£100k across a range of goods/services and ensuring compliance with a range of policies. You will lead and support negotiations with suppliers, reviewing terms and conditions, proposed amendments or even change of suppliers.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to have prior experience working in a procurement role and should be confident in navigating the full procurement lifecycle. Knowledge of UCR2016 would be highly advantageous for this role, allowing the successful candidate to hit the ground running. Experience and knowledge of how to navigate and manage the Oracle P2P system would also be highly beneficial, but knowledge of other P2P systems would also be considered. You will work in a large procurement team engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical to this role.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a competitive base salary of up to £43,000 p/a, alongside a host of other benefits. This includes two limitless Oyster cards, 75% off national rail travel, a discretionary annual bonus and 25 days of annual leave.
