International multi-disciplinary construction consultancy, Belfast project, 4 year duration, 2/3 days per week

Your new company

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced M&E Clerk of Works for a high-profile new build healthcare facility project in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an international construction engineering consultancy on a project with a build duration of approximately four years.

Your new role

On-Site Supervision: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works are executed according to project specifications and standards.

Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess the quality of work and materials used, ensuring compliance with approved design and safety regulations.

Coordination: Liaise with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to address any issues or discrepancies that arise during construction.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues related to MEP installations, providing practical solutions to ensure project continuity.

Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to the project manager on the status of MEP works and any potential delays or issues.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be a seasoned Building Services professional, coming from a background in Mechanical, Plumbing, Heating, HVAC, or Electrical Services who is flexible to on-site 2-3 days per week in Belfast, with the potential for additional days as project demands require.

Essential Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience as a consultant engineer or a time-served electrician or plumber/pipefitter, with a strong background in either Mechanical, Plumbing, Heating, HVAC, or Electrical Services.

Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building services and construction processes, with a focus on MEP installations.
Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and rectify quality and compliance issues on-site.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with diverse project stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges efficiently.

Desirable Attributes:
Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications in MEP, building services engineering or Membership of ICWCI
Project Experience: Previous experience working on large-scale healthcare facility projects.
