Assistant Operations Manager | Hull-Permanent £40-45k plus benefits
Hays Engineering are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Operations Manager, on behalf of their client, to oversee the health and safety of staff, contractors, and visitors, minimise environmental impact, deliver customer expectations, and ensure efficient site operations within the annual budget. The role involves maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure personal and team safety, implement SHEQ policies, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Operational Management: Manage site operations, meet financial targets, support business strategy development, and promote the business within the industry.
- Team Leadership: Develop and motivate the team, ensure effective service delivery, and foster a positive working environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices, recommend improvements, and support the development of training and succession plans.
Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience in the sector with product processing and refining, such as Quarry, Anaerobic Digestion, EFW, BioMass/ BioGas, Waste management and Recycling at a supervisory level or above.
- Strong understanding of contract management, including KPIs and performance frameworks.
- Highly numerate and IT literate, with the ability to use management information effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to implement change programs and develop waste management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- The right to work in the UK, via citizenship or ILR or without expiry
