SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Loughborough

Hays Education is working with a specialist provision in Loughborough who are looking for a new SEND Teaching Assistant to start working after Easter. The ideal candidate has experience working with vulnerable and disengaged SEND learners and has a genuine passion for teaching in a creative, holistic manner. The successful candidate will work full-time until the end of the academic year.

Here at Hays, we work with a number of schools across Leicestershire, including Leicester, Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Hinckley and Loughborough. As a Teaching Assistant working with Hays, you will have the opportunity to work in schools local to you whilst retaining control of your work-life balance.

Your new school
This small alternative provision in Loughborough supports vulnerable and at-risk pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4 who are unable to access mainstream education due to their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll be joining a dedicated team of practitioners who work with pupils to raise their aspirations by delivering a bespoke and balanced programme of learning.

Your new role
In your new job as a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with a team of like-minded practitioners to support pupils with SEMH needs to access learning in way that is tailored to their needs. Hays Teaching Assistants make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities which make every day different! You’ll benefit from on-going support from your Hays consultant, Hollie, who will be there for you throughout this placement and beyond.

What you need to succeed
To succeed in your new job, you’ll have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working with pupils who have SEMH, ideally in an educational setting. You’ll be able to adapt to the needs of students across Key Stages with previous experience supporting children with communication and/or sensory needs. Most importantly, you’ll be confident stepping into a new school and ready to quickly build relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents.
