Interim Management Accountant/Finance Manager

Your new role
Our client, a growing Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), is seeking interim support from a Management Accountant. This role will manage the day-to-day operation of the finance function for the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support academies with daily financial activities as needed.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and the Trust's Medium Term Financial Strategy.
- Review half-term monitoring statements with academy staff, resolving any issues and reporting variances/concerns to the Finance Director.
- Accurately calculate and take monthly accruals, prepayments, and depreciation in the Trust finance system.
- Manage the collation of data from individual academies.
- Prepare benchmarking data for the Trust.
- Perform bank reconciliations and prepare cash flow reports for individual academies and the Trust.
- Oversee the Trust financial management system and check/countersign payroll monitoring reports and journals.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of all financial returns.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and submit monthly VAT returns for the MAT.
- Handle month-end adjustments, financial modelling, and payroll journals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in financial management within an educational or similar setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Knowledge of HMRC regulations and VAT submission processes.
