About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Middlesbrough, working through Hays Education. This role involves supporting pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require additional assistance to achieve their educational goals.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Middlesbrough, working through Hays Education. This role involves supporting pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 who require additional assistance to achieve their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Supporting pupils in managing their behaviour and developing positive attitudes towards learning.
- Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to reinforce learning.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the teaching staff.
- Collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a PRU or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by pupils in a PRU.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development.
