Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer to join their Service & Repair division.

This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to quality, with the successful candidate playing a key role in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment and systems across the water and wastewater industry.

Whilst working as a field service engineer your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Inspect, diagnose, and repair a range of equipment such as pumps, valves, and motors • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems and components • Provide technical expertise during equipment upgrades and replacements • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues • Provide on-site support to clients as needed, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and equipment inspections • Complete all job-related paperwork and documentation as required • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and support • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe work practices are followed • Adhere to company HSQE policies and standards • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably be required from time-to-time.

What You'll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and experience:

Previous experience in mechanical service, maintenance, or engineering roles, preferably in the water and wastewater industry • Pump installation and maintenance experience would be desirable • Strong technical skills, with an awareness or ability to work with electrical systems • NVQ/ City and Guilds qualifications in engineering would be desirable • CSR card would be desirable • Willing to train junior employees/ apprentices • Good organisation and communication skills • Strong attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision • A clean Full UK driving licence.

What You'll Get In Return

For working a 39.5 hour week (Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30 + Friday 08:00 - 16:00) you will earn a competitive hourly rate of up to £17. An on-call rota is also in place to provide client cover outside of standard working hours. The package also includes company van, mobile phone, tablet and fuel card. To supplement the salary package enhanced OT rates of 1.5 and 2.0 are also available.
