Network and Security Infrastructure Engineer

Your new company

You will be working with Hays specialist recruitment on an exclusive contract assignment, with one of our key clients.

The organisation you will be working for is within the public sector, within the public housing area. The organisation has been going through some real periods of growth recently, which has led to them requiring an infrastructure engineer to join them to upgrade some systems that are in frequent high use.
The contract on offer is going to be for 6 months, working on a hybrid basis doing 2 days per week on site in Greater Manchester and 3 days per week from home.

Your new role

As a Network and Security Infrastructure Engineer you will focus on mix of both projects and business as usual activity to ensure a robust, efficient secure network, that is available for 99.5% of the time. You will deliver the 2nd and 3rd line support of Incidents within the network and security Infrastructure, providing swift return to service for business users and services including identifying, analysing, and resolving issues related to IT security. Projects will include an MPLS WAN to Meraki SD-WAN migration and security controls enhancements such as endpoint protection and extended detection and response


What you'll need to succeed

Proven knowledge in Cisco, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN and Fortinet technologies
Proven knowledge of Network monitoring tools including SolarWinds.
Proven knowledge of SIEM tools and or MDR/XDR services
Proven knowledge of vulnerability management
Experience operating within an ITIL environment.
Good knowledge of IT services delivered within a corporate environment.
Knowledge of Incident, Problem, & Event Management
Able to maintain good supplier relationships.
Excellent oral and written communications
