Your mission: identify and capitalise on collaborative buying opportunities, maximise efficiencies with cutting-edge procurement practices, and leverage advanced IT tools. Lead the charge in managing our corporate services supply chain with a top-tier supplier relationship management program that evolves and improves continuously. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to mentor and develop a talented team of supply chain professionals.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Manage department processes in line with expectations, ensuring consultation with relevant process reviewers when adding, amending, deleting, and reviewing owned processes.
  • Formulate, negotiate, and manage a defined range of market areas to secure the best terms and conditions and financial outcomes.
  • Responsible for the delivery of contracts, including procurement strategies, supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, recommendation, contract award, and variation management.
  • Maintain market knowledge of areas of expenditure and assist in developing supply chain strategies that will underpin objectives.
  • Lead and manage the supplier relationship management program to deliver effective contract management across the corporate services supply chain to ensure continuity of supply of goods and services, including initiatives to support the delivery of savings.
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies, deliverables, and agreed targets for a defined range of market areas, ensuring risks are understood, managed, and mitigation plans created.
  • Provide regular and proactive engagement and support to internal and external stakeholders to enable best practices through delivery of commercially viable contracts that comply with all relevant legislation.
  • Support the continuous development of the purchasing system.
  • Review transactional activity and deliver procurement strategies to address non-value-adding activities.
  • Ensure all goods and services procured meet requirements of suitability for purpose, quality, safety, and price, and continually monitor and assess suppliers to ensure they provide service in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Drive procurement strategies that achieve savings targets, performance improvement, and supplier rationalisation.
  • Review all relevant legislation, rules, processes, and procedures, recommending enhancements to deliver continuous improvement while ensuring compliance.
  • Manage and develop a suite of KPIs and management reporting specific to your area of responsibility.
  • Lead, motivate, develop, and manage a team of supply chain professionals, including responsibility for objective setting, one-to-ones, coaching and mentoring, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • Degree and/or relevant qualification is desirable.
  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
  • Significant procurement, supply chain, and contract management experience is essential.
  • Experience in conducting major contract negotiations is essential.
  • Experience in managing and leading supply chain professionals is essential.
  • Experience in conducting major and complex procurements, including procurement best practices, is essential.
  • Proven track record of delivering optimum results, including savings delivery in a multi-faceted supply chain operation, together with comprehensive knowledge of supply chain governance, is essential.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and contracting processes, including legislation, is essential.
  • Experience in both public and private sector procurement is desirable.
  • Awareness of new technological advances in supply chain is desirable
