Your new role

As the Engineering Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of high-value engineering services and materials across four sites: Milton Keynes, Cambridge, North Yorkshire, and the South Coast. While most of your time will be required in Milton Keynes and Cambridge, the role offers hybrid working opportunities with travel across all sites.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and leading engineering procurement strategies to ensure cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.
Aligning procurement objectives with corporate strategy and operational needs.
Identifying opportunities for supplier consolidation and cost savings.
Driving procurement innovation and sustainability initiatives.
Managing category and supplier relationships, ensuring long-term service quality and commercial performance.
Leading high-value negotiations and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Overseeing procurement budgets and driving cost-saving initiatives.
Engaging with site-specific procurement managers and operational teams to ensure alignment with site needs.
Providing leadership and mentorship to the Engineering Category Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred.
Proven experience in managing high-value, high-risk procurement within engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
Strong strategic procurement leadership skills, with expertise in category management, cost reduction, and supplier negotiation.
Financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-pound procurement budgets.
Advanced negotiation skills and the ability to secure long-term, value-driven supplier agreements.
Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and engineering standards.
Proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP or SourceDogg.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
