Ellesmere Port. 1:1 and whole class support, reception/early years. Long-term full-time temporary contract.

Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an Ellesmere Port-based single-form entry primary school as they are looking to appoint a reliable and experienced teaching assistant to support the reception class. This is a full-time long-term temporary contract starting after the Easter break.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting the reception class. You will work alongside the class teacher to promote a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment and aiding in general classroom management. As the reception class teaching assistant, you will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, delivering phonics sessions and assessments, guided reading, guided writing, basic numeracy and literacy to ensure that all pupils reach their full academic potential. There are a number of pupils with SEN within this class, so you will be required to aid in their support across the wider classroom and implement positive behaviour strategies including DOJO, regulation and distraction.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working in a reception class in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous
  • Experience delivering phonics: RWI and Jolly Phonics preferred
  • Be able to commit to a full-time long-term contract

What you'll get in return

If you are successful in your application, you will receive the full support, dedication and guidance of an experienced senior DfE accredited recruitment consultant, as well as a wide range of benefits, which include:

  • Free training
  • Upfront cost of DBS covered
  • Competitive rate of pay
  • Full holiday entitlement
  • Company pension scheme
  • Access to exclusive vacancies
  • Refer a Friend scheme
