Hays is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in Thorne to support children with SEND and SEMH needs.

Location: Thorne, South Yorkshire

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Hays is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a team in Thorne.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the implementation of personalised achievement plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to help students overcome learning barriers.
  • Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional well-being.
  • Supporting both indoor and outdoor activities and ensuring a safe and engaging atmosphere.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A "Can Do" attitude
