Electrical Estimator - Prominent M&E Contractor - Newtownabbey

Your new company

One of Northern Ireland's leading M&E contractors is looking for a seasoned Electrical Estimator to become part of their commercial team. This company boasts a long-standing tradition of successfully delivering diverse projects across various sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, high-end residential, and industrial, throughout the UK. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the company's continued success and expansion.

Your new role

As part of the major projects teams, key duties will include:
  • Assess bid requirements from tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform precise quantity take-offs and measurements from tender drawings.
  • Produce tenders that are accurate, competitive, and compliant.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with tender bids.
  • Secure optimal prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Assist in the handover of successful bids to the Project Delivery Team.
  • Prepare detailed schedule of rates documents.
  • Cost variation works on ongoing projects for submission to the client/main contractor.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a solid track record in all aspects of electrical installations.
  • Excellent time management skills and capable of working under pressure.
  • Good communication, leadership, motivational, and people skills.
  • Proficient in MS Packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software.
Desirable
  • Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Skilled in using Trimble (Amtech) Estimating Software or similar packages.
  • Experience with specialist software tools such as Amtech, Autodesk products, and similar applications.
