Research Technician - Dairy HSO -ASO

Your new company

Working in the public sector on a fantastic farm. Working with Livestock on a daily basis and working within a great team ethic and place of work.


Delivery of scientific tasks within a range of livestock production research projects. This work will include recording scientific data, manual handling of livestock and agricultural equipment (outdoor-based activities), inputting and checking data on computerised systems and production of summary data/reports for commercial funders.


Your new role

- Two GCSEs including English and Maths, grade C or above, or a recognised level 2 or higher in Agriculture/Land-based Technology/ or equivalent in a relevant area.
- Be able to demonstrate, by way of example, that they have at least 12 months' experience of working on a dairy farm, including milking, feeding, maintaining cow hygiene throughout all milking processes, or be willing to learn.
- Have experience working outdoors. Be able to demonstrate, by way of example, general livestock husbandry skills, including calving, record management and animal health and welfare.
- Have a full driving licence which enables the holder to drive a car in Northern Ireland.
- The ability to work weekends on a rota basis is essential to the role.

- Experience in Microsoft Office
