A National Contractor with an extensive busy pipeline of work seeks to appoint an ambitious design manager.

Your new company

Our client is a large main contractor with a busy Scottish business focusing on the core market sectors such as education, healthcare, refurbishment and leisure projects. Due to a new project win, they are seeking to bolster their design management function with a Design Manager.

Your new role

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for management and coordination of the design process with a core focus on ensuring the design team are working in line with project design principles and deadlines. You will work closely with both your internal and external project teams, ensuring design issues are resolved promptly and design risk is mitigated. You will chair design meetings and encourage a collaborative and positive culture to be established, ensuring the flow of information is efficient and effective.

What you'll need to succeed

Our client is seeking an experienced design professional with a practical and hands-on approach to design management. The ideal candidate will have experience of working on education, healthcare or other publicly funded building projects, and you will have direct experience of all stages of RIBA. Perhaps you are working in an architecture practice and wish to deploy your experience in a more practical way or are already working as a design manager for a main contractor and are seeking a change. This role will offer significant opportunities for career development.

What you'll get in return

Our client can offer an attractive benefits package and an agile work environment based around trust, common sense and results. Get in touch now for more information.
