SEN Specialist Year 1 Teacher in South Gloucestershire

Hays Education have recently seen an increased need for a local Special Educational Needs Teacher in Year 1 in a school in South Gloucestershire for day-to-day and long-term supply with the potential for permanent contracts. This means, as a teacher working through Hays, you will have local work in your local area covering schools that only you want to work in. We are currently recruiting on behalf of a mainstream Primary School in South Gloucestershire who are recruiting for a SEND Teacher to work in their resource base. The students are presenting with Autism and/or ADHD, and the school is looking for passionate individuals who are confident in building trusting and positive relationships with students to support their academic progression and personal development.

Your new role

This school is currently recruiting for a full-time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team in Term 5 on a temporary basis with the possibility of taking a long-term role for the right teacher. We are looking for exceptional people who thrive on working in challenging settings to work with the schools' exceptional pupils every day. We are seeking people who thrive on working in a challenging but immensely rewarding environment, who are passionate about supporting the development of social, life and independence skills and who truly want to make a difference in the lives of young people. This Year 1 role is extremely important as the appointed person will be expected to have a real and positive impact on the lives of children who have a range of care needs, life experiences and personalities that make every day varied and interesting. You will be able to successfully build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage student(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with living and learning tasks to appropriate.

What you'll need to succeed

The appointed candidate will be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. Hays welcomes more experienced teachers as well as ECTs who are confident to work with, and have previous experience with children and young people with ASD, ADHD and/or challenging behaviour.
