Senior Binding Authority Technician FTC – independent Lloyd’s Broker – up to £85,000 – city/hybrid

Your new Brokers are an Independent Lloyd’s Broker providing specialist solutions to their clients who access a wide range of markets on their behalf. Due to expansion within the North American team an opportunity for a Senior Binding Authority Technician has arisen for a 12 month fixed term contract.


Your new role

Your new job working as a Senior Binding Authority Technician means the objective of this role is to oversee the delivery of an efficient and enhanced end to end operations service to both their Clients and Brokers/Account Executives. Duties will include MRC slip and Endorsements production, ensuring effective delivery of all Broker Support activities, overseeing the service delivery provided by 3rd party providers, and awareness of end-to-end processes relative to IBA, Premium Processing, Claims and middle office tasks. Duties will also be assisting in the preparation of key placement documentation, initiating and overseeing the processing function, supporting the processing technicians. Further duties include maintaining an accurate and compliant record of the placement, supporting the internal File Audit process working with the File Review and Internal Audit team as appropriate, and working with Clients and Brokers to address Cash & Credit Control issues.


What you'll need to succeed

Your previous experience working as a Binding Authority Technician handling North American and Binding Authority business will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have experience of putting binding authority slips together and understanding the renewal slip process within the London Insurance Market and have DCOM exposure. You will understand the end to end process and interact with IBA/Accounts to reconcile premiums. You will have a desire to learn new tasks and new lines of business, an ability to communicate with Clients and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner, be proactive and assertive and be able to work under pressure. You will also have the ability to standardise the processes within the team, embrace change and embed new processes as well as be computer literate.
