A teacher for Year 2 is needed for the summer term, for a 2 form entry primary school in Telford.
Your new school
I am working with a Primary School in Telford that is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Your new role
Working on a full-time basis for the summer term, you will teach a class of 19 Year 2 children, including 5 children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) who have good proficiency in English, and 5 children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), one of whom has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and receives 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) support every morning.You will have the support of a class-specific Cover Supervisor, who you will need to effectively deploy.
You will be required to plan and deliver effective and engaging lessons, with an afternoon of PPA time provided, which can be taken off-site.
There are no parents' evenings in the summer term, although you will be required to write summer term reports in summer 2, for which you will be given an additional day out of class to write.
Staff meetings are held every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Key Stage 1, preferably Year 2.
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and differentiation strategies.
- Experience with Read Write Inc. (RWI) and White Rose Maths (WRM) is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills are essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs.
