Assessing Social Worker (Children’s) – Fostering Team Coventry £33.30ph

Coventry City Council are looking to recruit a highly experienced Assessing Social Worker to work within their Fostering Team. This is a great opportunity for someone that wants to develop their skills and who are committed to achieving the best for the people of Coventry.

Your new role

Coventry are looking for an agency social worker to take on the role of assessing connected persons foster carers (Kinship).
As an Assessing Social Worker, you will have experience in Connected Persons Teams (Fostering) and who has completed Form C and SGO assessments, Foster Home Reviews, Supervision of Foster Carers and initial assessments.

The successful candidate will potentially have a case load of assessments of prospective carers, including some foster carer supervision, whilst permanence plans for children are progressing.
Both roles may involve undertaking some initial assessments. You will also have the opportunity to work with team colleagues in improving support to carers through training, support groups and events.

The post will be full-time 37hrs per week and you must be a car driver.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will need to
  • Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • 3 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Previous experience working within Social Work adults services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
