Senior Buyer opportunity working within a £multi-billion manufacturing business in Wrexham with hybrid working

Your new company
A global manufacturing business with an excellent reputation in the market is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Buyer to join their friendly team in Wrexham. The company has invested significantly in their manufacturing facility and has recently expanded their operations, so it's a great time to join the business on their continued growth journey.

Your new role
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for the efficient procurement activity of raw materials, packaging and consumables within the fast-paced production process. This role is essential to driving savings within the manufacturing process and ensuring a cost-efficient supply chain operation. Working within a regulated procurement and supply chain environment, the Senior Buyer will ensure compliance with stringent regulatory standards and will collaborate with internal teams/stakeholders to align procurement activities with business goals and production schedules. Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will work closely with them to devise and implement sourcing strategies which deliver value for money and ensure strong working relationships with suppliers and wider stakeholder groups. You will also manage risk within the supply chain to ensure a continuous and reliable procurement and supply chain operation. A confident negotiator, you will work with suppliers to negotiate favourable contract terms to secure the best rates and T&Cs.

What you'll need to succeed
  • A proven procurement background with experience working at Senior Buyer level (or similar level)
  • SAP experience - essential
  • Experience of working within a HIGHLY REGULATED procurement environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, food, defence etc) - essential
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • A natural problem-solver
