Associate (Mechanical Building Services) - Salary up to £65K + Car allowance

Our client is a highly respected international multidisciplinary consultancy, with offices across the UK and a team based in the Glasgow area.

Their Building Services team plays a leading role in many challenging and exciting projects across numerous sectors including custodial, aviation, defence, life sciences, public, and more.

With them, you will find yourself in a next generation office environment designed to help you deliver exceptional projects for their extensive range of clients UK wide.

Our client is now looking for an Associate to join their Mechanical Building Services team. The ideal candidate will be an already stablished Associate with another building services consultancy, or an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer ready to take the next step in their career.

Your new role

As an Associate, you will be responsible for the delivery of mechanical building services solutions, the management of your projects and the performance of your team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of building services across a wide range of sectors within both public and private domains.
  • Technical and commercial management of your own projects.
  • Managing and developing more junior engineers.
  • Carrying out calculations and verify those carried out by your team.
  • Ensuring the delivery of work from conceptual to detailed design.
  • Estimating cost and finance for the business and costs for budgets.
  • Developing good business and customer relations,
  • Controlling and maintaining the quality of work according to company's policy.
  • Assisting in project winning,
  • Taking a lead role in bids and tender submissions.
  • Assisting with interviews to meet the demands of the business.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or relevant.
  • Chartered Engineer and member of relevant body.
  • Strong project management skills in delivering building services projects from concept through to handover.
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills with the confidence to manage varying client situations.
  • Ability to develop relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Ambition and drive to lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
  • High level of knowledge and experience of mechanical engineering and low carbon design with a key understanding of other disciplines
  • Experience and knowledge of using AutoCAD, Revit, IES, and other industry standard software.
  • Proven ability to develop designs conscious of energy conservation, sustainability and with a knowledge basis of renewable technologies.
