A leading manufacturing company based in Hartlepool is looking for a temporary administrator to join a busy team. You will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager and will be working with a friendly and welcoming team.
Your new role
The Purchasing Administrator will assist in the procurement of goods and services, maintain accurate records, liaise with suppliers, and ensure smooth administrative processes. This role is vital in supporting efficient purchasing operations, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:● Procurement Support: Assist in the daily procurement activities, ensuring orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner.
● Cost Control: Support cost-saving initiatives by monitoring supplier pricing and highlighting potential savings opportunities.
● Process Improvement: Assist in reviewing and refining procurement processes to improve efficiency.
● Stock Control / Goods In: Ensure goods arrive at the correct warehouse within the agreed timeframe, minimising additional costs.
● Stock Transfers: Assist in ensuring goods in remote locations are transferred to active dispatch sites as needed.
● Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Team, ensuring all records, databases, and documents are accurately maintained.
● Supplier Communication: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth procurement operations and resolve any issues efficiently.
What you'll need to succeed
● Skills: Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
● Knowledge: Basic understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams effectively.
● Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support key procurement functions efficiently.
