Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) Frontline

Your new company

The role offers a starting salary of £46,399 - £49,588 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week, plus a market supplement of £3,000 per annum. Part-time applications are also welcome.
Approved Mental Health Professionals are being sought to join the exceptional Mental Health teams based in Leatherhead, Reigate, Tandridge, Woking, Runnymede, Waverley, and Guildford (one vacancy per team).

"After shadowing an AMHP, it became clear that this was the path I wanted to take to advance my Social Work career. The work is challenging but immensely rewarding, allowing me to utilise my skills and expand my knowledge as a Social Worker. I recently joined the AMHP Service in Surrey, and the team is incredibly friendly and supportive."

Surrey is proud to be at the forefront of implementing innovative approaches in personalisation and a recovery-focused, strength-based methodology.
The aim is for service users to have greater control over their care, make informed choices, and actively participate as citizens in their community.

Your new role

As a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), the role involves undertaking statutory duties as outlined in the Mental Health Act and the Care Act, as part of the Approved Mental Health Professional service at Surrey County Council.
AMHPs in frontline teams conduct pure AMHP assessments, while those in community teams support the frontline team’s rota and assist individuals, carers, and families in developing support plans to meet identified outcomes. This is achieved using a strength-based approach and leveraging family, friends, and community options where appropriate and eligible needs are identified.
The role also includes contributing to the professional development of staff and students through supervision and training.
