Hays Accountancy and Finance are recruiting for our client, one of Northern Ireland’s leading charities, for an Assistant Director of Finance to lead and manage their finance team. They are offering a range of benefits including;

Your new role

  • Overseeing and managing the Finance function for the Group and associated companies.
  • Producing and distributing timely financial management information, including key statistical data, and identifying underlying trends for action.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining finance policies, procedures, and related documentation, ensuring alignment with best practices and current legislation.
  • Liaising with Group Auditors in the production of Statutory Accounts.
  • Representing the Finance team in key business projects, including new business ventures and TUPE transfers.
  • Leading and developing the Finance team, ensuring consistent delivery of high standards across the department.


What you'll need to succeed

  • A full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in management accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate experience of use of computerised finance packages and experience in excel.
