A fast-growing technology business seeks a qualified accountant as Business Planning & Analysis Manager.

Your new company

Our client is a fast-growing privately-owned technology business that has expanded significantly over the last few years within the UK and overseas. Due to this continued growth, a new role of Business Planning & Analysis Manager has been created.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead in establishing a key enabling function within the business, holding responsibility for supporting strategic planning and long-range goal-setting and for leading the annual business planning and budgeting processes alongside regular forecasting and performance analysis to drive business success. This role involves working closely with the Extended Leadership Team and cross-functionally to provide insights and recommendations based on data-driven analysis, ensuring the business remains aligned with long-term goals.

As Business Planning & Analysis Manager, you will support strategic planning and analysis, assist in the development of long-term business strategies and provide analysis to support decision-making. You will analyse industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats. Annual planning and forecasting will fall under your remit, and you will lead the annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and targets. Developing and maintaining financial models to forecast future performance and cash flows will be a key task as well as wider business performance analysis, including monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate business performance across various functions. You will provide regular performance reports and insights to the ELT and other stakeholders and identify areas for improvement and develop actionable plans to optimise business operations.

Working with department leads to ensure resources are aligned with strategic priorities and conducting scenario analysis to evaluate potential business decisions or changes in market conditions, as well as supporting the execution of business initiatives by providing data analysis and operational insights, you will have a high level of cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting. You will have demonstrable experience in leading business planning processes and supporting strategy development and delivery and be proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or similar) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). With excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, you will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong presentation skills, the ability to work with senior leadership and excellent business partnering skills are all a must.

What you'll get in return

This broad, commercial role will allow you to really impact a business with significant growth plans.
