This is a really great opportunity for someone with buying experience with a manufacturing background, to join a growing yet established company who work on a variety of commercial projects, where you will get full internal training and progression up to Senior Buyer.
Your new role
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and category teams to understand their indirect procurement requirements and develop sourcing strategies to meet those needs.
- Conduct market research to identify potential/alternative suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favourable terms and pricing agreements.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating proposals, and selecting vendors.
- Effectively manage notifications of changes from suppliers with stakeholder support.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication and resolve any issues promptly.
- Monitor supplier performance, address any issues or concerns, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure consistent delivery of quality goods and services.
- Work closely with the internal stakeholders to track and analyse spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new materials and service introductions, cost-reduction projects, and other strategic initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement to continuously improve processes and optimise supply chain performance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience with indirect procurement categories is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end projects and achieving total cost of ownership savings.
- Demonstrated proficiency in risk management and supplier relationship management resulting in successful outcomes.
- Sound understanding of commercial procurement procedures and practices, encompassing negotiation skills and contract law.
