Quantity Surveyor Capital Allowances Advisor Glasgow

  • Hays has partnered with one of the leading global financial institutions to recruit a Capital Allowances Advisor to join their Glasgow-based team.

You will be working in their beautiful office in Glasgow City Centre with the opportunity to have hands-on visits to sites, clients and other offices around the country.
  • They are committed to professional development and will support the candidate chosen for this role as they pivot their surveying experience into that of a Capital Allowances Advisor.

Your new role

  • Capital Allowances professionals advise clients on tax relating to capital expenditure incurred on property and fixed asset portfolios. You will achieve this by combining your practical knowledge of construction, property and cost management with tax and accounting.
  • This role is perfect for a junior or recently chartered surveyor looking for a change of direction. You will use your surveying experience as a foundation and then receive world-class training and support to embark on a career in the finance world.

What you'll need to succeed

  • The ideal candidate will be approaching or have recently achieved MRICS status in the field of Quantity Surveying.
  • You do not need to have any previous experience of tax and accounting but will be committed to upskilling yourself and learning quickly in the role with support from your colleagues and managers.
  • You will have an engaging and personable manner and excellent communication skills. Building relationships with your close-knit team of colleagues and growing your network of clients and contacts will be part of the role.
